The Jury of the 57th edition has been appointed

The President of the International Violin Competition “Premio Paganini”, Giovanni Panebianco, has informed the Board about the names suggested by the Artistic Director, Nazzareno Carusi, to be invited as members of the 57th Edition’s Jury. All of them are authoritative and eminent personalities from music and violin’s international scene.

Together with Salvatore Accardo (Italy), who has been already indicated by Nazzareno Carusi as Jury’s President, they will be: Ilya Grubert (Netherlands), Michael Guttman (Belgium), Christopher Reuning (USA); Maxim Vengerov (Russia-Israel); Reiko Watanabe (Japan)and Régis Pasquier (France) appointed on March 8, 2023 to replace Emmanuel Krivine.

President Panebianco declares: "It is another important goal, according to the schedule requested by the City of Genoa’s Mayor, Marco Bucci, in his relaunching project, and approved by the Board on May 2, 2022. I'm very grateful to our Artistic Director, Nazzareno Carusi — and to Maestro Accardo — for the excellent work they did and for a result that we can say as extraordinary. The International Jury is a milestone in the new course of the “Premio Paganini”, in addition to those results already achieved. We now have a new model of reglements and organisation, a new “ad hoc” venue that will house the Competition’s historical archive, a new logo, a completely rebuilt website, a media-partnership with RAI (the Italian National Broadcasting Corporation), a special media-communication's plan and a prominent list of “Premio Paganini Ambassadors”, presented during the recent institutional events in Genoa and Paris. The announcement of the 2023 Competition has introduced novelties in the musical programme and in the organisation of the rehearsals, in co-operation with Teatro Carlo Felice. And the number of musical engagements offered to the winner is unprecedented: today, it has reached the pitch of 43, including authentic musical temples as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan"

President Panebianco continues: "This impressive result has also allowed us to register multiple signs of renewed interest from private sponsors, further confirming the quality of our innovative project and the commitment of all those who, with passion, rigour and professionalism dedicate theirselves to the Competition, honouring the legendary figure of Niccolò Paganini and the history of the City of Genoa".
