Michael Guttman

Violinist, conductor and artistic director, he has received Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Scopus Award for his music career and been nominated for a Grammy. He debuted aged 14 alongside Jean-Pierre Rampal, meeting Isaac Stern who suggested he pursue his studies at Juilliard with Dorothy Delay and the Juilliard String Quartet. He has played throughout the world and participated in the première of Glass’s “Double concertos for violin and cello” conducted by Jaap Van Zweden with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He plays a 1735 Guarneri del Gesù, which belonged to composer Giovanni Battista Viotti.
