Pursuant to Art. 13 of the GDPR (EU Regulation No. 679/2016), and in accordance with the principle of transparency, the following information is provided in order to make the user aware of the characteristics and methods of data processing:
The Data Controller is the Municipality of Genoa, legally represented by the Mayor pro tempore, with registered office in Via Garibaldi 9, 16124 Genoa, e-mail: urp@comune.genova.it; PEC: comunegenova@postemailcertificata.it. The Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the City of Genoa is Attorney Massimo Ramello, e-mail: rpd@comune.genova.it, PEC: dpo.comge@postecert.it.
The Municipality of Genoa, as part of its institutional activities, will process the personal data collected mainly through electronic and digital means, under the conditions established by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), particularly for the performance of its tasks carried out in the public interest, including purposes of archiving, historical research, and statistical analysis.
The data will be processed exclusively for the purposes described above by personnel of the Municipality of Genoa and by any external collaborators—such as companies, associations, institutions, or other entities—explicitly appointed as data processors.
Outside of these cases, the data will not be communicated to third parties nor disseminated, except in situations specifically provided for by national or EU law. Providing the data requested in fields marked with an asterisk (or indicated in the form as mandatory) is essential; failure to provide such data prevents completion of the necessary procedure. Conversely, providing data in fields not marked with an asterisk (or not indicated as mandatory) is optional; while such information may facilitate interactions with the Municipality of Genoa, failure to provide it does not affect completion of the procedure. The data will be processed for the time necessary to complete the user’s request or as required by the procedure, and will subsequently be stored in accordance with regulations governing the retention of administrative documentation. Some data may be published online in the “Transparent Administration” section when necessary to comply with legal obligations under Legislative Decree No. 33/2013 and subsequent amendments—consolidated legislation on civic access, publicity obligations, transparency, and dissemination of information.
Data subjects have the right to request from the Data Controller: access to personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and the right to data portability.
Requests addressed to the Data Controller must be submitted through the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the Municipality of Genoa, whose contact details are provided at the beginning of this notice.
Data subjects also have the right, where applicable, to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali), following the procedures indicated on the Authority’s website ().
