Franco Gulli

Franco Gulli was an extraordinary interpreter and a passionate teacher.

He was born in 1926 in Trieste and studied at the Accademia Chigiana with Serato. Gulli was a member of the “Virtuosi di Roma” before starting, together with Giuranna and Baldovino, the renowned “Trio Italiano”. He has set up an excellent duo with his wife, the pianist Enrica Cavallo.Besides, his long career as a teacher brought him to live between Europe (Siena - Accademia Chigiana and Lucerna) and U.S.A. (Indiana University).

Member of the Accademia of Santa Cecilia, he has joined the Paganini Contest Jury in 1967 (when Gregorio Zhislin won the contest), in 1970 ( the first prize wasn’t assigned) and in 1977 (when Ilja Grubert won the contest).
