Dami Kim

Dami Kim, Korean from Daejeon. You began your violin studies at the age of 6 in the United States and then continued in Korea after turning 8. In 2002 she enters the Curtis Institute of Music where she studies with violinist Aaron Rosand. For the merit scholarship obtained at Curtis, she was awarded the Mark and Esther Kramer Fellowship. She graduated in May 2007 from the Curtis Institute of Music while, in May 2010, she obtained a Bachelor's Degree from the New England Conservatory where she won the Concerto Competition and performed with the NEC Symphony Orchestra in 2009.

She studies with the famous violinist Miriam Fried attending the Master Courses at the New England Conservatory which she attends thanks to a full scholarship since September 2010. In addition to having received numerous awards and honors, Dami Kim has won prizes in several competitions around the world including the Sendai International Competition in Japan in 2010, the Michael Hill Violin International Competition in New Zealand in 2009 and the Second Prize at the Johansen International Competition in Washington DC in 2006. In 2004 she won the Philadelphia Orchestra Greenfield Concerto Competition and performed as a soloist together with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center in 2005 and won first prize from CBS National Music Competition, of the Catholic Music Competition, of the E-Wha Kyunghuang Competition, of the Korea inquire Competition and the grand prize of the Korean Music Association Competition.

Dami Kim has performed as a soloist with the Thailand Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the invitation of the Thai government.She has performed with major Korean orchestras including the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Orchestra, Dae-jeon Philharmonic Orchestra and Kyung-Ki Philharmonic Orchestra , in addition to having performed with the FMMC orchestra of Washington D.C.
