A total of 20 young violinists from around the world arrived in Genoa and gathered this morning at Palazzo Tursi for the roll call.They were welcomed by the Artistic Director, Nicola Bruzzo, and the Secretary General of the Competition, Gloria Piaggio. Four candidates have withdrawn.
As specified in the competition rules, at the end of the roll call, a draw was held to determine the order of performance for the competitors in the 58th International Violin Competition ‘Premio Paganini’. The letter drawn was L.
The Mayor of Genoa, Silvia Salis, and the President of the Premio Paganini Committee, Giovanni Panebianco, met with the competitors at the end of the roll call.
The competition begins on Wednesday October 15, with the First Round for violin solo at Palazzo Tursi, Salone di Rappresentanza.
The first competitor to perform, at 10 a.m, is Jinzhu LI.
