A-Rah Shin

A-Rah Shin was born in Korea in 1983. She was a prize winner at the Honam Arts Festival and at competitions sponsored by the Korean Musical Association, the Chosun Newspaper and the Kyung-Hyang Newspaper, as well at the Pusan Music Competition and at the Choong-Ang Newspaper Competition.

She was awarded a prize at numerous music competitions in Europe, such as the International violin Competition "Sion-Valais" (Switzerland) and she was semifinalist at the International violin Competition "Joseph Joachim" (Germany). She performed with the major orchestras in Asia: the Seoul Philarmonic Orchestra, the Taejeon Philarmonic Orchestra, the Chonju Philarmonic Orchestra and the KNUA Symphony Orchestra in Korea; the Geidai Symphony Orchestra in Japan and the Khabarovsk National Symphony Orchestra in Russia. She also gave a solo recital at Kumho Gallery Prodigy in Seoul. She attends the Korean National University of Arts - School of Music, studying with Prof. Nam-Yun KIM, Dean of the School of Music.
