55th International Violin Competition
Premio Paganini

April  5th – 14th 2018     Genoa (Italy)

Managed by the artistic direction of Maestro Giuseppe Acquaviva returns the International Violin Competition  named after the great Niccolò Paganini.

After having graduated extraordinary violinists such as Salvatore Accardo, Gidon Kremer and Leonidas Kavakos, the Premio Paganini turns again to young talents from all over the world and it is ready to crown a new winner.

The International Violin Competition "Premio Paganini" officially began in 1954 with a threefold purpose:
it sought to nurture gifted young violinists, usher them into the international spotlight, and establish the city of Genoa, Italy as a prominent cultural center.

Over the ensuing decades, it indeed became a virtual hotbed of dynamic talent for young and aspiring classical violinists and definitively put Genoa on the cultural map.
